Six Week Course with Alison Potts – Innate Being
Discover a style of meditation that feels like home and completely your own and start to build your own personal meditation repertoire.
Everyone can meditate. It is an organic part of us which is wired into our biology. There is no need to follow rules and conditions and you can build a repertoire of practices to suit your own life and needs.
Meditation and mindfulness are names for a kind of awareness we have when we are paying holistic attention to ourselves and life with gentle curiosity and loving presence. They invite us into portals for healing and thriving and create opportunities for lasting change. Informed by developments in brain science and psychology, we now know a lot more about the power of practices which are compassionate, embodied and orientated towards the wisdom that already lives inside of us.
In its simplest form, meditation is a way of tuning in deeply for a while to something which is important and of value to us. We take the time to invite something precious to us and needed, into our bodies more deeply and to linger with it for a while. Using skilful awareness, which is welcoming, compassionate and body-based, awareness, we can bring attention and intention to what might be passing ideas, thoughts, feelings, or moments and make them into a practice which brings lasting benefits and rewires neural pathways.
When we find practices which “feel like home to us” – which work and feel authentic within our own being and the life we want to have - it is a gift. We then have a way of living that can be the anchor of our self-care, resilience and all our creativity in the world, which pays itself forward as a positive impact on others and the environment.
