Join Jody Vassallo for 50 hours Yin Yoga Teacher Training at our Camp Hill Studio. An immersive journey for yoga teachers and dedicated students with a thirst to dive deeper into knowing themselves, the elements we are in continuous relationship with and the way we take life and our experiences inward. Yin Yoga is a glorious practice and a beautiful gateway into presence, stillness and self care.
Jody Vassallo has been teaching meridian based yoga for over 15 years and in this training, she will share her knowledge and understanding of how yoga postures can stimulate the energy pathways in the body to enhance the quality of our physical and emotional well-being.

The History of Yin Yoga
Learn about the history of yin, its founders Paulie Zink, Paul and Suzie Grilley and more recently Sarah Powers.
Basic Chinese Medicine Theory
Gain and understanding of the principles of yin yang theory and how the balance of yin and yang in our lives is essential for health and longevity.
Meridian Theory
Discover the 12 major meridians in the body and the organ systems they are aligned with.
Learn how the time of day, season and time of year can affect how the body responds both physically and emotionally to the challenges we face in our lives.
Discover how the movement of energy through meridian pathways using yin postures can increase vitality and also deepen our relaxation.
Asana Practice and Breakdown
Learn the 26 basic yin postures and how to instruct your students to move safely in and out of these poses.
Learn the 3 principles of a yin poses -arriving in the pose, playing the edge and stillness and how equally important each one of these elements is.
Discover how to alter, adjust and support yin poses to accommodate the various needs of your students.
Anatomy and Physiology
Gain a basic understanding of the nervous system. Learn how the parasympathetic nervous system is accessed through yin yoga and the benefits that yin yoga can have on digestion, sleep and healing.
Understand the impact holding poses for up to 5 minutes can have on fascia, connective tissue and joints.
Discover how yin can improve flexibility and joint mobility.
Art of Teaching
Understand the elements that make up a competent, confident, friendly and approachable yin yoga teacher. We will explore the importance of listening and how to use it within a class environment.
Learn how to structure a yin yoga class according to a season.
Breathing and meditation
Learn the basic breathing techniques used in a yin yoga class and how to instruct these with ease.
Discover how meditation can enhance and deepen your experience as a teacher and also enrich your student’s yogic journey. Learn how to teach a basic Buddhist mindfulness meditation.

About Jody:
Jody Vassallo is a highly experienced yoga teacher, Ayurvedic health coach and multi award cookbook author.
She competed her Diploma in Ki Yoga ( a dynamic meridian based Japanese yoga) in 2004. Following on from that studied under Rachel Zinman in the ISTHA (Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda) System in 2006.
Jody has been teaching yoga in her local community and on retreats in Australia and overseas for the past 15 years.
She has a sound knowledge of the meridian system, yoga therapy and a passion for food medicine. Educating her students about the five elements, the seasons, the meridians and the food they eat forms an integral part of Jody’s unique style of teaching.

Upon registration either full payment or a $400 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spot.
Eligibility & Yoga Alliance:
Every attendee that completes the full training will receive a certificate of completion. If you wish to receive Yoga Alliance hours, students must have completed a recognised 200 hr training and are then eligible for Continuing education points with Yoga Alliance.
Please note: This course is also open to experienced students who have not done a teacher training, but wish to deepen their understanding of yoga in an immersive environment.

Cancellation policy:
Upon registration a $400 non refundable deposit is due.
Cancellations made 60 - 40 days in advance of the course start date will incur a cancellation charge totalling 40% of the overall course fee.
Cancellations made less than 40 days in advance of the course start date will incur a cancellation charge totalling 60% of the overall course fee.
Cancellations made under 14 days in advance of the course start date will incur a cancellation change totalling 100% of the overall course fee.
